Policy

  • The Company recognizes that some of its employees may choose, or be asked, to serve their country by joining the uniformed services. These employees deserve appreciation and respect from their co-workers and management when they depart for service and when they resume their civilian careers. Employees who are absent from work due to service in the uniformed services will be granted military leaves of absence as, and to the extent required by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (“USERRA”) and any other applicable state law.
  • All hourly and salaried full-time and regular part-time employees who are absent from work due to service in the military are also eligible for up to 15 calendar days of paid military leave each calendar year. Unless otherwise specified by local policy, full-time employees shall receive eight hours of pay for each day, and part-time employees shall receive four hours of pay for each day.  Managers/HR will need to enter military pay into Kronos.

Leave type and leave approvals will be managed by the EssilorLuxottica Human Resources Service Center in partnership with Sedgwick.

Documentation is time-sensitive.

  • Employee must be aware that not adhering to medical due dates will delay and/or cause denial of Short-Term Disability/Leave of Absence.
  • Failure to provide certification to support time away from work can result in period being addressed under the department attendance policy or termination of employment.
