Geographic pay differentials are utilized to account for variations in cost of labor between locations. Compensation develops salary structures based on “cost of labor” or “cost to employ”.

To help you understand how geographic pay differentials are utilized at EssilorLuxottica, below you’ll find our methodology.

Determining Geographic Pay Differentials

EssilorLuxottica North America is segmented into areas for geographic pay.  Data from the Economic Research Institute (ERI) is used to determine geographic differentials for each of these areas.

Each EssilorLuxottica store location is slotted into a geographic differential based on ERI data utilizing city/province/state/zip code (postal code).

The 2021 differentials can be found by state/province here: 2021 Geographic Differentials Chart

Note: Based on cost of labor, there can be a difference in the geographic differentials for unlicensed and licensed positions at your store location. If the entire state is in the same differential, the cities will not be listed.
