Eligibility

Employees become eligible for Personal leave after six months consecutive calendar days of employment.

Policy

Personal leave may be granted at the discretion of the Company for extreme hardships or relocation. A personal leave of absence will not be granted to attend school or to extend another type of leave of absence. Generally, a personal leave of absence may be granted for a period of up to 30 days. Extensions will be approved only in exceptional circumstances in increments of 15 days, up to a maximum of 90 days.  The Company reserves the right to cancel a personal leave of absence before an employee’s expected return date.

Personal Leaves are unpaid; employees may use available PTO, vacation or sick time concurrently.

Leave type and leave approvals will be managed by the EssilorLuxottica Human Resources Service Center in partnership with Sedgwick.

IMPORTANT: 

Documentation is time-sensitive.

  • Employee must be aware that not adhering to medical due dates will delay and/or cause denial of Short-Term Disability/Leave of Absence.
  • Failure to provide certification to support time away from work can result in period being addressed under the department attendance policy or termination of employment.
