Final Pay - U.S.
When employees terminate employment, state or provincial law may require that the employee receive his/her final paycheck on the last day of work or within a specific time frame following the employee’s last day. If your state/province is not listed below, final pay will be made on the next regularly scheduled payday. Unused diversity days and holidays do not get paid out. Please see the chart below to see if you are located in one of these states/provinces.
It is extremely important these requirements are followed. The action steps outlined are to ensure compliance with these time frames. Manager failure to comply with these steps may result in substantial fines, penalties, and corrective action.
Requesting a final paycheck late and/or missing information will impact successful on-time delivery of the final paycheck.
