All U.S. EssilorLuxottica Manufacturing, Rx Operations and Distribution Center employees are collectively referred to as “EssilorLuxottica Operations.”

Timeliness and confidentiality are critical in addressing threats and violence in the workplace. 

Workplace violence, aggressive or threatening behavior is unacceptable and violates the Principles of Conduct policy. Each situation must be fully investigated, and so no decisions should be made or initiated until an HR investigation is complete.

Critical Steps

  1. Determine whether there are any immediate steps you can take to diffuse the situation. In the event of immediate continued risk to the physical safety of an employee,  or others, contact Human Resources and site Asset Protection.
  2. Inform your direct manager.
  3. Contact Human Resources to get direction on next steps.

Conduct

  • Do not make assumptions.
  • Assure employees reporting alleged threats or violence the allegations will be thoroughly investigated and advise them to maintain confidentiality during the investigation process. Inform the reporting employee(s), however, that if they are in fear of his or her physical safety or the safety of others, they always have the option of contacting the police.
  • Maintain custody of any evidence brought to your attention. Do not interview additional employees.

Please Note: Separation of employees, temporary suspension, temporary reassignment, or schedule changes may be needed while the investigation is taking place. Contact your supervisor and Human Resources before taking action. Do not discuss the issue with anyone outside of your Manager, Senior Manager, Asset Protection or Human Resources Manager. At no time should you initiate corrective action without Management and Human Resources approval.

The Company may use whatever corrective action method it believes will effectively address the particular performance and/or behavior issue or policy violation. Some behaviors, actions or violations may warrant immediate termination of employment without any prior corrective action.
